Josiah's vocabulary has increased tremendously and he is finally talking in short sentences. I just had to post to remind myself of this achievement. I define this a memorable milestone for any child as suddenly, they are part of our adult world - understanding, listening and giving opinions on all matters. Such an amazing experience for a first time mum :)
Vocabulary log
train tracks - Josiah see "train tracks" in any parallel lines on your clothes, on the side street, on building walls and any material with lines on sofas, table....etc! He'd then proceed to run Thomas over it, very roughly, hence the huge rip on my table cloth
orge - Josiah's most advance word learnt from watching the Little Einstein.
Thomas, Percy, Edward, Gordon, Spencer - he can tell these Thomas the Tank trains apart whereas I tend to call all blue ones Thomas and all green ones Percy.
A usual conversation which takes place at least 10 times a day....
Josiah: Mummy, train tracks is broken. Mummy, fix train tracks.
me: Okay, Mummy fix it for you.
Josiah: Mummy, play?
me: ermm...okay
Josiah: Mummy, train tracks is broken
me: I just fixed it, it's not broken.
Josiah: Mummy, train tracks is broken..
me: !!!!!!!!!!! geram........!!!!
Josiah: Mummy, train tracks is broken. Mummy, train tracks is broken, Mummy, train tracks is broken, Mummy, train tracks is broken............
Other frustrating orders from Josiah:
1. Mummy, sit/stand/play here!! (He'll pull you from whatever you are doing and would likely to burst into tears if you said no)
2. Mummy, buy this one.....car/bus/train/ball....etc
Luckily, he is still quite okay when I say no and take it off him and put it back on the shelf.
3. Mummy, watch Pocoyo/Wall-E/Little Einstein??
This is the first thing he asks for when he wakes up, right after, Mummy, milk...and Mummy, take off bag (sleeping bag). Exact same request. Every day. Same sequence.
4. Where is my "chow-chow"? We CANNOT leave home without it. On our recent Paris trip - even one chow-chow everyday was not enough, I had to wash them as they'd be soaked by night and I had to get him another one for the night.
5. Go to the park? Or Mummy go out?
Josiah loves going out except for times when he hates going out. So he is either asking to be out or crying when I ask him to put on his shoes!
6. See you later
A phrase he learnt quite early on because the porters downstairs the apartment always says that to him whenever we go out.
